Position Purpose
The Events and Special Projects Manager plays a pivotal role in the planning, coordination, and execution of organizational events and unique initiatives. This position oversees the end-to-end management of events, ensuring that they align with organizational goals, resonate with target audiences, and are executed seamlessly. Additionally, the manager is responsible for spearheading special projects that drive the organization's mission forward.

Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • 3-5 years of professional experience coordinating and managing complex events and event calendars.
  • Experience in office administration or program management.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with adaptability to shifts in priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in technology/communication tools (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Slack, and Zoom).
  • Demonstrated project management and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive learning community and professional growth.
  • Ability to work occasional evening and weekend hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working in higher education.
  • Experience with higher education enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems like Slate, Banner, PeopleSoft, Oracle, Salesforce, OnBase, etc.

Key Accountabilities

Description
1. Events Management:
  • Plans and oversees logistics for in-person and virtual recruitment and yield events.
  • Negotiates venue contracts and liaises with venue contacts on room layouts, catering, A/V requests, and other logistics.
  • Maintains and manages master recruitment and yield events calendars.
  • Works closely with admissions officers, alumni, and students to confirm and communicate event scheduling details.
  • Responds to phone, email and online inquiries related to events.

  • Manages and completes special projects that drive the organization's mission forward.

3. Teamwork and Collaboration:
  • Collaborates with Admissions & Financial Aid colleagues and other Tuck/Dartmouth offices to arrange community events and related logistics.
  • Assists in staffing Admissions reception area and greeting office visitors.
