This position is located on campus in Hanover, NH and requires regular weekly on-site work presence of 3 days per week on average, and remote flexibility other days, with the understanding that more on-site presence will be required during heavy event weeks.

Position Purpose
The Engagement and Events Manager plays a pivotal role in managing events and supporting the execution of engagement programming for alumni and donors. With high level guidance from the Director of Engagement, and as informed by Tuck's mission, strategy, and institutional priorities, this position works as part of a team to ensure that events produced by Advancement uphold a standard of excellence, align with organizational goals, resonate with target audiences, and enhance Tuck's lifelong commitment to a distinctly personal, connected, and transformative experience.

Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Bachelors plus 3-5 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • 3-5 years of professional experience coordinating and managing complex events and event calendars.
  • Experience in event planning or program management.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills with adaptability to shifts in priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in technology/communication tools (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint, and Zoom).
  • Demonstrated project management and proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to fostering a diverse, inclusive learning community and professional growth.
  • Ability to travel and work occasional evening and weekend hours.

Prior experience working in higher education, alumni engagement, volunteer management, non-profit management, or a related field.

Key Accountabilities

Description
Event Management & Execution:
As part of the Alumni Engagement team, provides broad and high-level support and management in the planning and execution of a wide variety of Advancement events including regional and on-campus events, virtual programs, reunions, and lifelong learning offerings. Responsible for end-to-end event management for assigned events. Manages engagement-based projects that require high levels of attention to detail, accuracy, sensitivity, and a continued focus on the purpose of those activities. Partners with Advancement Operations colleagues and contributes to the creation of event tools, registrations, and communications. Prepares event collateral and tracks event participation. Works with internal and external vendors/stakeholders to organize logistics including venue arrangements, catering, communication collateral, program speaker needs, and audio visual. Partners with Advancement Operations to manage and maintain event related data to ensure integrity.

Description
Volunteer Management:
In partnership with the team and by leveraging resources from Advancement Operations, triages and fulfills volunteer support requests. Engages with key alumni volunteers to support their planning and execution of successful alumni events and communications and to cultivate engagement with Tuck, providing event planning support, guidance, and advice as needed. Maintains volunteer membership and data in collaboration with the Advancement Operations team.

Financial Management:
Manages the financial components of engagement initiatives and events, including vendor contracts and payments, tracking and reconciling expenditures, and preparing expense reports and payments. Acts as a key partner to Tuck finance on contracts, payments, and processes.

Contributes ideas, input, and support to initiatives, decisions, and communications with implications for alumni engagement programming. Seeks out, applies, and shares knowledge of innovations through market research, engagement with peer networks and professional associations, and continuing education opportunities.
