This position will be scheduled for (5) 8-hour shifts every two-weeks on our Long-Term Care Unit. Primary shift would be from 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM and would be scheduled for every other weekend. For weekends worked, this position is eligible for a $2.00 weekend differential (in addition to any other applicable differentials).

Sign-on Bonus Available!

An employment bonus of up to $3,750 (subject to applicable taxes) is available for this position! The bonus is paid in three installments: 1st after 90 days, 2nd after one year, and 3rd after two years. Bonus recipients must commit to continuous full-time or part-time employment in an eligible position for two years with Porter Medical Center. Please note that current University of Vermont Health Network employees are excluded from eligibility for this bonus.

Job Summary

The primary role is to assist patients/residents with exercises that improve the use and function of their limbs, by performing tasks for which the employee has been trained and deemedcompetent in, in a manner that meets or exceeds federal, state, and facility expectations.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • State of Vermont LNA license.
  • Licensed nursing assistant with at least 6 months of work experience as an LNA required. Long-term care or sub-acute rehab experience preferred.
  • Satisfactory completion of restorative aid training preferred. Must be willing to obtain specialized training in restorative care after employment if not already completed.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work respectfully and successfully as a member of a team.

Unit Information

Otter Creek is a more traditional Long-Term Care unit. Residents of Otter Creek are more cognitively intact, but are medically unable to live independently. There are many personalities and activities present, and staff have the opportunity to truly know their residents. Assessing well, understanding residents' conditions, thinking critically while advocating for providing the best home for residents, and being a person they trust is essential.
